Decorating with glass

In Victorian times glass domes were used to preserve and protect precious items,and they are once again being used in decorating and drawing attention to the item on display. Several different shapes and sizes have just arrived!

Home Again

Back home and back to work again, after a very packed three days of head turning gorgeous displays put together at the Gift Fair in Melbourne. There are some clever designers out there bringing beautiful ideas to life yet again. Lots of ordering took place, and as usual we can't wait to start unpacking new stock when it starts to arrive.

Off to the Gift Fair

I will be away from the computer for the next 3 days, the annual Melbourne Gift fair is on again,and hopefully there will be lots of exciting things to order! Back soon.

Camelia season

My parents have the most amazing camelia bushes growing in their garden,and very generously picked loads of them to brighten up the bare vases,birdbaths and bowls at Rose Harvest this week.

This lovely bird picture on rustic board is so appropriate amongst the blooms.

Heavenly hyacinths and other lovely things

The sweet aroma of hyacinths and a mixture of herbs to welcome visitors this week, fresh from the garden.

Some interesting pieces of leadlight shown here, even hung on the wall are very effective if there is nowhere to install them as a window. Sitting atop a cupboard or table is also a great way to display them, becoming a work of art instead of a window.

Favourite Things

My absolute favourite new arrival this week, is this gorgeous hanging vase/candleholder. A simple glass vase surrounded by twisted wire to hang on your verandah or in my case above the kitchen sink as pictured. Small size $12.95 and large $16.95 available from both stores.

Sunny Saturdays

It must be the beautiful weather bringing people out and about the last few days. The two shops have been quite busy with stock moving in and out and catching up with customers.

Some really lovely new pieces of furniture have arrived as can be seen in the photos .
