sweet and innocent

Today was really hot and most people were taking cover amongst the coolness of the inside rooms where this lovely old print is displayed,it is so much the epitomy of sweetness, the innocence of childhood. The very large pink depression glass jug alongside is fantastic, and not very often seen amongst collections of pink glass.

New arrivals

These pics taken today are just some of the lovely bits and pieces that have arrived over the last few days. The writing set is just gorgeous, and would suit a mans domain or a more feminine room. We have not had much carnival glass of late, so now have various pieces that all look so great together, a shame to separate them into different homes ! The brass folding screen is just fantastic, it would be from the 1940's era,a time of elegance and imaginitive decorating themes. The top picture is of a lovely pine glass doored dresser, with lots of room for displaying all of your precious china, having glass doors would also make it suitable for quilts, books or anything you would like! The cutting boards are in three sizes, and are able to be hung for easy storage or display. The frilly aprons spilling out from the drawers are all new, but so 1950's,very much in vogue again.

All about colour

Some days are for soft pastels, and others are all about vibrancy, today was a strong colour day. The heat has definitely arrived and we are all feeling the ochres and reds of the season.

Fairy wings

We have a lovely collection of fairy dresses that can either be worn or just hung up and admired. This is an actual mannequin that has been made into the form of a mystical and somewhat botanical creation.

Baby bliss

It doesn't matter how old you are, or whether or not you have a daughter to justify having a doll in the house, there is just something special about old dolls that they will always have a place in a home.

lamplight

All of todays images have been created by aspiring photographer "Robyn" who visited Rose Harvest last week to take some creative photos. I have to say I am so impressed! She has chosen some lovely vignettes around the shop, I will post some more a little later, there are quite a few more to add.

hues of green and gold

The colours in this painting ( an original ) are so lovely, most probably painted in the early twentieth century, framed in a beautifully crafted Victorian frame that has stood the test of time amazingly well.

Angelic

I am afraid today came and went without an opportunity to take photos of new stock that has been delivered throughout the last few days.We had a very big day and late deliveries to do, so instead I have posted a photo I took a few days ago of one of my very favourite cast iron statues kneeling at the end of our courtyard.

Shiney silver baubles

I have relented and put out a few early Xmas trinkets. These particular ones are not necessarily strictly for Xmas, I love the silver hearts for anytime, and the friendship balls can also be given throughout the year. The tradition is that a small gift ( i.e. jewellery, keepsakes etc.) are enclosed in the silver ball that is hinged to open out, and presented to a friend, who in turn uses the friendship ball to pass on another treasured item. There are also shiney silver Xmas trees and angels in three different sizes.

Cool and calm

The coolness of today was very welcome after yesterdays 34 degrees. Even though that is not terribly hot for Mildura its just a bit early and we're still not quite ready :) It was a good opportunity for tidying up and rearranging the courtyard,we sold a couple of tables on the weekend and so I was able to re-decorate.It ended up looking a little like a farmyard for a short time as I was spring cleaning the pigs and sheep, but they are back in their rightful places again now.
