There is something special about the first roses of Spring,it must be the hundreds of buds over every bush that are never so lush later in the season as they are right now. I love to display them in unconventional containers and especially time worn vessels that are past their use by date for the original purpose.Old wash bowls and tureens as pictured are my favourites and the fact that they have a few chips and cracks just adds more interest to the display.
