This very ancient ( probably 100 years old ) lidded sewing basket had seen better days,so needed a little bit of a make-over. Some new lining in a lovely old rosey linen,and some classy tassel trim to add some new life has transformed it. 
It would make such a lovely holder of sewing bits and pieces,or if not a sewer,there would be so many other uses. As well as being a decorative piece , it is a perfect place for storage of photos,postcards,stationery,(loveletters??) wool,ephemera etc.

As well as being a decorative piece , it is a perfect place for storage of photos,postcards,stationery,(loveletters??) wool,ephemera etc.The lovely quilt sitting on top just happened to be in the same colours ,as are the very intricate pearl beaded bag and chiffon corsage,they just belong together don't you think.
Oh I just love it! That would look very sweet in my studio! Think I might need to pop out in the next few days and check it out!
